Introduction
Refined Promise introduces a variety of personal development techniques and tools that you can apply to different aspects of your life. We focus several key life areas:
- Spiritual: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
- Career: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23-24
- Financial: “But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.” Deuteronomy 8:18
- Health: “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
- Leisure: “And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.” Genesis 2:2-3
- Housekeeping: “If anyone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he take care of God’s church?” 1 Timothy 3:5
- Personal Growth: “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2
- Social: “For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 5:14

In a world filled with so many responsibilities and distractions competing for our attention, it can be a challenge to feel a sense of balance. God gives everyone 60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour, 24 hours in a day, and so on. It is what we do within this finite gift of time that really matters, dividing the haves from the have-nots.

My name is Dr. Ashley Robinson, and I am the visionary behind Refined Promise. While in graduate school pursuing my PhD, I worked constantly, with little time for much else. Because academic work consumed a lot of my time, I decided to delay a lot of my other goals until after graduation. I would often think, I’m too busy doing __________, so I will start __________ after I finish __________. After graduation and into the first few years of my career, I still found myself too busy, primarily with occupational responsibilities, to focus on my personal goals. It took me years to realize that responsibilities and distractions will never go away, always pushing to occupy every single second of our lives. I learned the hard way that if you want to accomplish something, you have to allocate the time now to make it happen. I have always believed that having a balanced life is possible, as I have seen others manage and thrive using the same 24 hour days that God has given me. However, my early attempts at it mostly fell short, often ending with exhaustion, a lack of motivation and self-disappointment. I was going through the motions, trying one time management technique after another, but did not rely on the power of Christ to guide my steps. Now, I strive to center every aspect of my life in Christ, and let Him guide my thoughts and actions. Although I am not yet where I want to be, I thank God for where He has brought me from. Every new day that God blesses me to see, gives me an additional 24 hours to continue on my journey towards thriving in a life of balance, centered in Christ.
